Coaches

If you have a problem with a parent you should -

  1. Talk to the parent about your concern (in the presence of your Team Manager).

  2. Do not let the situation become heated.

  3. If you are unable to solve the problem amicably, then you should refer the matter to the Committee via Coaches Coordinator. A Committee person will then talk to the parent and try to resolve the dispute or may consult with a number of committee members to convene a mediation process. The Committee (or members) will mediate at meeting of the Coach and the Parent/s and attempt to resolve the problem.

  4. If mediation doesn’t work then the Committee will adjudicate to the best of its ability and in the best interest of the Club.

If your have a problem with a player -

  1. Talk to the player and express your concerns (if the player is under 14 or lower then you should always speak in the presence of a parent).

  2. If there is a further incident with the player, you have the authority to suspend the player for a maximum of 2 weeks. If a suspension in not warranted but you are not satisfied with the behaviour of the player, you should again speak to the player and parent and make them aware that future indiscretions will not be tolerated. At this point you must inform the Coaches Coordinator will discuss the matter with the coach and if necessary the player will be spoken to by the Coaches Coordinator and if necessary will be required to come before the Committee.

  3. If a situation arises at Training/ Matches that require some immediate action, then again, a maximum suspension of 2 weeks is permitted and the matter must be referred to the Coaches Coordinator or the Committee for further investigation.

Parents / Players

Our coaches are not paid. They put in a lot of time and effort to try to improve the football skills of players. Parents are asked to fully support and where possible assist when and where required.

If you have any concerns regarding the coach you should-

  1. Inform the Team Manager that you would like to speak to the coach or personally ask the coach for a meeting at a time convenient to the coach. At NO stage should a parent confront a coach whilst training or game in progress. If you wish, you may withdraw your child and arrange a meeting with the coach.

  2. If you feel that you are not able to resolve your problem after speaking to the coach or if you don’t think you can resolve your problem by speaking to the coach, then you should speak to a Coaches Coordinator who will arrange with the members of the Committee and/or the coach.

  3. If a number of parents have concerns then they should be put in writing and addressed to the Committee.

  4. At NO stage should parents abuse or threaten a coach. Any breach of this could result in parents and/or their child being either suspended or expelled from the club. Coaches must be treated with respect and any disputes should be resolved amicably.

  5. If the Committee needs to become involved, it will mediate in an effort to resolve the dispute. At the conclusion of the mediation meeting of parents of the team, it may be necessary to explain the Clubs decision. The need for this will be decided by the Committee.

Players

If a player has a problem with another player (same team or otherwise) players/parents should not take matters into their own hands. They should refer the matter to the Coach or a Committee Member who will decide the appropriate action to follow. If the matter warrants the intervention of the Committee, the matter will be investigated by the Committee to the best of its ability and talking to the parties concerned. Penalties may be imposed as the Committee sees fit.
